How to Verify Domain Ownership via DNS record GoDaddy
To verify domain ownership on GoDaddy through DNS, you need to add a specific TXT record from the Search Console to your GoDaddy DNS settings. Then, return to the Search Console to confirm. This process allows their system to check for the presence of the record.
Where can you find the TXT record?
- Navigate to Google Search Console
- Start now
- Enter the domain or subdomain.
- Continue
Select Record Type: TXT or CNAME
- If selected text record
Copy the TXT record below into the DNS Configuration for (Domain)
- If Selected CNAME Record Type
Copy CNAME Label/Host
Copy CNAME Destination/Target
- After adding both DNS records to GoDaddy
- Click on Verify
Verification of domain ownership will be done.
How to verify DNS records in Godaddy?
- Login to your Godaddy account.
- Click on Domains for Domain Portfolio
- Go to DNS-DNS Records
There are two ways to verify domain ownership: either verifying domain ownership or adding new records.
- Click on Verify Domain Ownership
Copy the TXT record from the Search Console and paste it in the value in GoDaddy.
Verify through OTP
Go to the Search Console and verify.
- Click on Add New Record
Type- Choose CNAME
Paste the name label and value destination.
- Save
- Go to the Search Console again and verify.
