Preparation underway for implementation from 2026-27, four-year graduate students will get the opportunity One-year B.Ed. program to resume after a decade The one-year B.Ed. program will begin in the new academic session of 2026. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has decided to implement a new one-year B.Ed. course from 2026. This decision has been taken under the New Education Policy (NEP-2020) to address the shortage of teachers and provide employment opportunities to young people quickly. Moreover, this course will give more importance to practical training, internships, and school-based learning, so that trained teachers can enter the classroom with real-world experience. Notes: Maximum Universities have not yet fully rolled out standalone one-year B.Ed programs, but they are transitioning toward it.
