Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar (born 22 June 1974), known mononymously as Vijay or by his nickname Thalapathy (commander), is one of Tamil cinema's highest-paid actors, dancers, and a rising political figure. He retired from a decorated 33-year film career after his 2024 film The Greatest of All Time to launch his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).

Actor-turned-politician C. Joseph Vijay of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, 2026. He took office after his party won 108 seats and secured a majority with alliance support, breaking the decades-long DMK-AIADMK duopoly.
