National Exit Test (NExT) is a proposed exam for all MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BSMS, and BHMS students in India. Passing NExT is necessary to finish the final year and get a license to practice medicine. Admissions to postgraduate courses will depend on a candidate's performance in NExT. This was introduced by the National Medical Commission Bill 2019. The NExT exam has been delayed for three to four years because of implementation challenges, so it will not be introduced right away.
